XL7: Links to Other Sheets in Workbook Not RecalculatedID: Q137710
|
When you create a link from one sheet to the same cell or range in another
sheet in a workbook, the link either is not updated automatically or it is
updated inconsistently. For example, if you create the following link in
cell P20 of Sheet 1
=sheet2!P20
A patch is available that corrects this problem. In addition, Microsoft
Office version 7.0b corrects the behavior. However, note that although the
dependencies work correctly, affected cells that already contain incorrect
values are not automatically updated. You must force existing incorrect
values to recalculate, and then resave the file.
You can recalculate all cells in the workbook by pressing CRTL+ALT+F9. To
save the file, click Save on the File menu. New values that you type into
the affected cells will recalculate correctly.
NOTE: Pressing F9 to update the affected cells does not update the
incorrect values.
For information about obtaining the patch, please see the following article
in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To work around this problem in Microsoft Excel 7.0, manually update the
link by pressing CTRL+ALT+F9. This will force all the cells in the sheet to
be recalculated.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0a.
