When you run a Lotus 1-2-3 macro in Microsoft Excel version 7.0, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, a message similar to the following appears:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
0137:501548c5.
This problem occurs when the macro uses the File Combine command to extract cells from another .wk1 file that contains an @@ function.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0a.
The File Combine command in Lotus 1-2-3 will extract cells from one file and place them at the active cell in the current document. This feature was developed with early text-based versions of Lotus 1-2-3.
Microsoft Excel does not have a direct equivalent of the File Combine feature, but you can simulate it by using the Copy and Paste commands.
