The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Excel, the toolbar in print preview is displayed with a gray bar instead of the color for the Windows color scheme that you are using.
This behavior occurs because the print preview toolbar bar color in Microsoft Excel is always gray; it does not use the Windows color scheme.
Normally, when you change the 3D Objects item color in the Display Properties dialog box, the toolbars (the bar itself and the button background) in Windows and Windows applications are displayed in this color. However, the print preview toolbar bar is not affected by changing this item color. Note, however, that the print preview toolbar button background color does change when you change the 3D Objects item color.
Note that this problem does not occur in Microsoft Word. Also, the print preview toolbar in Microsoft Word can be moved (the toolbar is dockable), while the print preview toolbar in Microsoft Excel cannot be moved.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
