Custom Dialog boxes created in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0, may not look the same when used in Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0. In version 5.0, the fonts in the dialog boxes will take on a bolder appearance, and the font spacing may cause text labels to appear misaligned when compared to the original dialog boxes.
To comply with Microsoft Windows 95 standards for dialog boxes, Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0, uses a font that is "thinner" than the system font. Earlier versions of Microsoft Excel use a system font that is heavier. Because the spacing for the text labels is based on the thinner font, the labels may appear misaligned or cut off behind other dialog objects, when you open the dialog box in Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0.
Note that dialog boxes created in Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for Windows look fine in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0.
If you want to run Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0, dialog boxes in Microsoft Excel version 5.0, you should design the dialog boxes with enough spacing between the labels and objects to compensate for the change in the appearance of the type.
