If there are more than 102 rows since the last occurrence of an item in a list, AutoComplete will not work unless you are within 50 rows of the last occurrence of the item. However, the Pick From List feature works correctly.
NOTE: AutoComplete also will not work at 102 rows after the occurrence of the item if that cell is not blank.
This behavior occurs if there are more than 102 non-blank rows in a column since an item last occurred.
You can select from a list of entries already in the column. To display the list, press ALT+DOWN ARROW to display the list, or right-click the cell, and then click Pick From List on the shortcut menu.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
