XL97: Comment Formatting May Be Lost When You Share a WorkbookID: Q171894
|
In Microsoft Excel 97, when you open a workbook, some of the formatting that is applied to a cell comment in the workbook is lost.
This problem occurs if you share the workbook by clicking Share Workbook on
the Tools menu and selecting the check box in the Editing tab of the Share
Workbook dialog box.
If the workbook is shared and you save and close the workbook, certain
kinds of formatting that is applied to comments are not retained.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
In Microsoft Excel 97, you can apply many kinds of formatting to text in a cell comment. However, when you share a workbook, only bold and italic comment formatting is retained. When you save and close a shared workbook, all of the following formatting is lost:
Font
Font Size
Font Color
Underline
Double Underline
Strikethrough
Superscript
Subscript
If you unshare the workbook, all comment formatting is retained when you
save and close the workbook.
