After you copy a shape to another worksheet in Microsoft Excel 97, the shape you copied may no longer be selected.
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
1. Select the shape.
2. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
3. Switch to the worksheet on which you want to paste the shape.
4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
NOTE: This method copies only the shape, not the cells around the shape.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
