If you copy a worksheet in Microsoft Excel 97 with the Move or Copy command, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to either of the
following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
0137:302d6c38.
-or-
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at
0000:7c651f00.
This problem occurs when both of the following conditions are true:

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.
1. On the File menu, click Save As. In the Save As dialog box, click
Options.
2. Delete any password in the Password To Open box, and then click OK.
3. Click Save.
Remove the chart from the worksheet before you copy it. Once you have copied the worksheet, re-create the chart on each worksheet.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
In Excel 97, you can protect a workbook with a password that must be entered each time you open the workbook. To do this, follow these steps:
1. On the File menu, click Save As. In the Save As dialog box, Click
Options.
2. In the Password To Open box, type the password you want to use, and then
click OK.
3. In the Confirm Password dialog box, type the same password again, and
then click OK.
4. In the File Name box, type a file name, and then click Save.
