In Microsoft Excel 97, if you click Remove Page Break on the Insert menu, the selected page break may not be removed from the worksheet.
This problem occurs when both of the following conditions are true:

To remove such a page break from the worksheet, select a cell outside of the print area, and then click Remove Page Break on the Insert menu. The page break should be removed from the worksheet.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
