SYMPTOMS
========

When you start a computer with a large number of services installed, an access
violation may occur in Mpr.dll during the boot procedure because of a lack of
heap memory.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior may occur if Mpr.dll does not allocate memory for a control block.
In such a case, Mpr.dll tries to free the control block with an incorrect
pointer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or
the individual software update. For information on obtaining the latest service

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT
Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows
NT Server version 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 6.
