Last reviewed: February 2, 1998

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition

SYMPTOMS

If you copy a chart in a worksheet in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, and then paste the chart into a document in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, the chart may change size in Microsoft Excel.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you set the worksheet in Microsoft Excel to a zoom level other than 100 percent (100%).

RESOLUTION

To restore the chart to the correct size, click the worksheet in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition that contains the chart, or click the name of the worksheet on the Window menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

When you zoom a worksheet in Microsoft Excel, the actual size of objects contained in the worksheet does not change; only the displayed size changes. Therefore, if you copy a chart contained in a zoomed worksheet and then paste the chart into Microsoft Word, the pasted chart is displayed at the zoom level of Microsoft Word. This behavior is by design.
