SYMPTOMSWhen you use Microsoft Excel, the text in the status bar for the Excel program is obscured by the Macintosh operating system Control Strip.
CAUSEThis problem occurs after you install the Macintosh Control Strip device in Control Panel.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, move the Control Strip device to a different area of your screen. To move the Control Strip, press and hold the OPTION key and drag the Control Strip to a different area of the screen.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThe Control Strip is a toolbar that contains several of the most common system controls, such as monitor, file sharing, sounds, printer, CD-ROM, and networking. This Control Panel device is included with the Macintosh operating system software beginning with System 7.5.3.
