These files or folders contain extended ASCII characters. Users may also have trouble logging on if a user's user name contains extended ASCII characters. CAUSE ===== The FTP server functionality in Internet Information Server 4.0 does not support extended characters. The FTP server removes characters that are above ASCII 240 (in decimal values). RESOLUTION ========== A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix.
