SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to start Dungeon Siege, the opening movie appears, but the Startup
menu does not appear. Instead, you receive an error message similar to the
following:

   Dungeon Siege has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
   the inconvenience.

When you click click here, you receive error message details similar to the
following:

   Error Signature
   AppName: dungeonsiege.exe AppVer: 0.2.3.801 ModName: d3dim700.dll
   ModVer: 4.8.1.881 Offset: 0001c5cf

CAUSE
=====

This behavior may occur if your video adapter driver is corrupted or
incompatible with Dungeon Siege.

This issue is known to occur with some NVidia video drivers.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, download the latest driver for your video adapter.
Contact your video adapter manufacturer for information about updated drivers.
