SYMPTOMS
========

If you use a mapped network drive to attach a file as a shortcut in a Microsoft
Outlook message, the path name may not be correctly converted in the Universal
Naming Convention (UNC) name. Because of this, the link may be unusable by both
the recipient and the sender.


RESOLUTION
==========

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to
computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
