XCLN: Not Cancel Client Start if Server Not AvailableID: Q147488

When you start the Microsoft Exchange client and the Microsoft Exchange Server is down or not available, you receive a dialog box with the following message:
The only buttons available in this dialog box are Retry, Work Offline, and Help. However, there is no way to cancel the startup of the client.Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable.
You can retry connecting to the server using the network, or work offline and connect using dial-up networking.
Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Contact your system administrator if this condition persists.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange version 4.0 Windows NT and Windows 95 clients. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
