SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to change your Windows NT Domain password from a Microsoft Exchange
client for Windows by clicking on Tools, Options, Exchange Server, and Password,
you will receive the following error if the Windows NT Server's machine name is
longer than 13 characters:

   The NT Domain password could not be changed. A required action was not
   successful due to an unspecified error.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Exchange clients
listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft
Exchange Server 4.0 U.S. Service Pack 2. For information on obtaining the
service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
(without the spaces):
