Cannot Add Custom User Attributes with HTML WebAdmin ToolID: Q193387
|
Creating custom user attributes may fail when you use the HTML-based Web Administration (WebAdmin) tool for the Microsoft Membership Server, which included with Site Server 3.0.
The user attributes list is rebuilt after any changes. In this case, when a custom user attribute is created it is written to the LDAP cache and not committed directly to the database. Creating a subsequent custom user attribute causes the previously created attribute to be dropped. This occurs because the attributes list is read directly from the database and the cache contents are not committed. The creation of the new attributes list does not include the previously created custom attribute.
To resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service pack.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the
