Direct Mail Is Incorrectly Configured by New Membership WizardID: Q187957
|
After a user creates a new membership server instance from the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) and points the Direct Mailer to an LDAP instance on a remote server, the LDAP properties for the Direct Mailer may be improperly configured. For example, the LDAP server name will be set to "localhost" instead of the one specified. Also, the Username and Password may not be set.
The user running the New Membership Server Wizard (SAWIZARD) does not have the permissions necessary to query the appropriate registry keys. SAWIZARD then silently bypasses the Access Denied error and sets the LDAP settings to hard-coded defaults.
