Err Msg: Invalid Column Name Found in the Columns PropertyID: Q197519
|
When you attempt to search any catalog with Site Server Search the following error appears:
Invalid column name found in the Columns Property.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry
Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys
And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and
Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics
in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit
it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency
Repair Disk (ERD).
The following text is from the Site Server Search readme file
(http://localhost/SiteServer/docs/readme_sss.htm):
Changing the Location of Site Server Search
If you reinstall Site Server or change your system configuration, and
the path to Search is changed, you must manually update the registry
key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndexCommon\
DefaultColumnFile. The value for this registry key should point to
<Site_Server
_Installation_Directory>\Data\Search\Config\DefineColumns.txt.
Because this key is shared with Index Server, this key is not updated
during setup, and it is not deleted when you remove Site Server from
your system.
To correct the problem, view the registry key above and make sure that
the path points to the
<Site_Server_Installation_Directory>\Data\Search\Config\DefineColumns.t
xt file.
