SYMPTOMS

The following Event ID populates the application event log on a heavily-traveled Commerce 3.0 site that uses Ad Server:

Category: None
Severity: Error
The current schedule contains no advertisements eligible for the current request to GetAd. The request to GetAd failed. Consider scheduling House Ads to prevent this situation in the future. Taglist: TAG, ad.border.0. (Ad Server application=test)

Putting an untargeted house ad on the schedule keeps the event from populating the event log.

CAUSE

The error occurs because Ad Server does not have any active advertisements that are currently eligible. An ad can become ineligible due to one of the following reasons:

The size tag passed in from the page do not match the size of any ads on schedule

Ads have Require or Exclude tags set on them that are not being matched from the page

Ads have time of day or day of week targets

Ads have run for the designated number of ad requests or clicks (they're "done")

Exposure limits
