Memory Leak in Site Server 3.0 Search with Windows NT 4.0 SP4ID: Q216143
|
After you install Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, Site Server Search query results may appear slow during and after a large number of queries. In addition, the Site Server Search computer may stop accepting connections after it receives a large number of queries.
This is caused by a memory leak exposed by Windows NT Service Pack 4. Each query leaks approximately 200 bytes.
A fix for this is included on the Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 compact disc, which is described in Resolution 1 below. Alternatively, this fix is also available in Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 2 (described in Resolution 2).
