NDR Occurs with the Description "Routing Table Transaction Failure."

The information in this article applies to:


SYMPTOMS

When e-mail is not delivered to some recipients, the SMTP generates a non-delivery report (NDR) with the description "Routing table transaction failure."


CAUSE

This problem may be caused by one of the following:

  • An error in the Mcis2upd.sql script that released with Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 2.


  • SQL Server 7.0 null-syntax handling is different than SQL Server 6.5.



  • RESOLUTION

    A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Site Server 3.0 service pack that contains this fix.
