Objects Missing in Membership Directory Manager View

SYMPTOMS

When viewing your Membership Instance through the Membership Directory Manager (MDM), some objects that you know are in your database may not be visible.


CAUSE

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) instance maximum result set is a lower number than the MDM's display limit.


RESOLUTION

The MDM display limit is defaulted to 499 and must always remain at least 1 number less than the LDAP instance max result set. The default for the MDM display limit can only be changed through a registry setting. Instructions for setting this parameter can be found in the Site Server online documentation by searching the index for "Filtering Contents and Containers".


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can increase the LDAP maximum result set to 500 (default) or greater, or you can lower the MDM display limit.
