Posting Acceptor Causes IIS 4.0 to Go to 100% CPU Utilization

SYMPTOMS

When you start posting a large number of files to an Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 server, the CPU usage can go to 100 percent. This causes IIS to stop responding.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the following fix from Microsoft Technical Support or wait for the next Microsoft Site Server Service Pack.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server, versions 2.0 and 3.0.
