Site Server 3.0 Install Changes Default Document for WWW ServiceID: Q200865

When you install Site Server 3.0, the default document for the IIS WWW Service Master Properties changes to Default.htm and Default.asp if the default document for the IIS WWW Service Master Properties is set to something other than Default.htm and Default.asp prior to the installation of Site Server 3.0. Additionally, when the Site Server 3.0 installation program changes the IIS WWW Service Master Properties default document to Default.htm and Default.asp, it also changes the default document for any child nodes to Ddefault.htm and Default.asp. The Site Server installation program does not modify any child nodes default document settings if the IIS WWW Service Master Properties default document is set to Default.htm and Default.asp, prior to the installation of Site Server 3.0.
To work around this problem, change the IIS WWW Service Master Properties default document to Default.htm and Default.asp prior to installing Site Server 3.0 and do not select any "Child Nodes" from the Inheritance Overrides dialog box. After Site Server 3.0 is installed, change the IIS WWW Service Master Properties default document to the appropriate default document for the Web server.
