Using Direct Mailer with Multi-Homed ServersID: Q216224
|
When you use a multi-homed server (either multiple NICs or multiple IPs on one NIC) with Direct Mailer and you attempt to connect to an application server that is bound to an IP address other than the primary IP address of the computer, the following error message occurs:
Cannot connect to the registry for the Site Server List Builder Service. The registry exists on the computer on which List Builder Service is running.
The application server configured for the List Builder or Schedule server is used to create two shares on the server:
\\SERVER\TMLBQueue\ScheduleTherefore, the name must be either the computer name or the primary IP address. The List Builder or Schedule server name is also used to look in the registry to find configuration information, which causes the error message.
\\SERVER\TMLBQueue\Work
It is still possible to configure a multi-homed server to work with multiple Membership instances. To do this, configure the Virtual Web servers to have multiple IP-address mappings by performing the following steps:
ipconfig /
