To use America Online 4.0 with Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0, you must use either the Winsock Proxy or the Socks Proxy.
Using the Winsock Proxy with America Online 4.0
To use America Online 4.0 with the Winsock Proxy Service, the Winsock Client must be installed on your computer first. If Access Control is enabled, access to port 5190 will be required. This will give you access to America Online; however, Internet access through the integrated Web browser will not be possible. If this is a requirement, the Socks Proxy service is a better alternative.
Using America Online 4.0 with the Socks Proxy Service
To use America Online 4.0 with the Microsoft Socks Proxy service, make sure that port 5190 (at least this port) is open on the computer running Proxy Server 2.0. No ports are opened by default on the Socks Proxy service.
