an invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will be not
be returned in Perf Data Block. Exception or status code returned is
DWORD 0.

It has been confirmed that versions prior to 3.5 of Compaq's Insight Manager (CIM) conflict with Performance Counters causing these errors to occur.
