BUG: Comments in Views Removed When Using View Designer

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

When using the View Designer to create or edit views, any comments that were embedded in the SQL code will be removed when the query is saved or run.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use a manually written script (with the appropriate comments inserted) to create the view.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 7.0.
