A correlated subquery that uses the EXISTS and UNION clauses may fail with an access violation (AV).
To work around this problem, restructure the query so that the EXISTS and the UNION clause is avoided. You may want to explore the use of joins or multiple queries.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
