BUG: Right Align Numerics Has No Effect on the Grid Result

SYMPTOMS

In SQL Server Query Analyzer, the Right Align Numerics option (located on the Advanced tab of the Current Connection Options dialog box from the Query menu) has no effect on numeric fields if Results in Grid is selected on the Query menu. The numeric fields still appear left aligned. However, the Right Align Numerics option does show the proper alignment if the Results in Text option (the default) is selected.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the text mode of viewing the results instead of the grid mode.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 7.0.
