BUG: Unhandled AV in BCP Using -e Option and Bad Import DataID: Q188327
|
An unhandled access violation can occur when using the bulk copy program
(BCP) to copy data into a table if both of the following conditions are
met:
DB-LIBRARY error:
Attempt to convert data stopped by syntax error in source field.
DB-LIBRARY error:
Data-conversion resulted in overflow.
You can work around the problem by either not using the -e option or by correcting the incorrect data (ensure that the columns are within the allowable range of values).
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
