FIX: IE 5.0 Hinders SQL Server 7.0 Wizards and Tabbed Dialogs on Windows 95 or 98 ComputersID: Q225084
|
Installation of Internet Explorer version 5.0 on a SQL Server 7.0 Windows 95 or Windows 98 computer may cause wizards and property sheets (tabbed dialog boxes) that display an edit control to generate exception errors. Generally, this problem is reported on the Windows 95 or 98 computer as a general protection fault.
Changes made to the Comctl32.dll file, as installed by Internet Explorer 5.0, result in an overrun of the edit control buffer.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server
version 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1
for Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0. For information about
downloading and installing the latest SQL Server Service Pack, see
http://support.microsoft.com/support/sql/.
