FIX: Permissions Shown Incorrectly in SQL Enterprise ManagerID: Q193392
|
If you have two objects with the same name, but different owners,
permissions may be shown incorrectly on the By User tab in SQL Enterprise
Manager. The permissions granted to users on the object will not be
displayed. However, the permissions will be displayed correctly on the By
Object tab.
When executing queries, the users will have all the permissions that they
have been granted. The problem lies only in the way the By User tab in SQL
Enterprise Manager displays the permissions.
To work around this problem, you can view the permissions correctly on the By Object tab in SQL Enterprise Manager.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server
version 6.5. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 5a
for Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. For information about
downloading and installing the latest SQL Server Service Pack, see
http://support.microsoft.com/support/sql/.
