SMS: RC Icon Places Itself Behind Windows NT Workstation Task Bar

SYMPTOMS

After a new installation of a Windows NT 4.0 workstation, the small Remote Control icon may place itself behind the Windows NT Task Bar, making the icon invisible to users.

CAUSE

This problem is specific to the Windows NT 4.0 workstation and occurs only before the first remote control session of the client. If Remote Control is taken of the client, the problem will not re-occur until the workstation is rebooted by shutting down and restarting. Logging off of and back onto the client will not reproduce the problem. This problem occurs regardless of the Windows NT service pack installed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
