SMS: Y2K Queries Use Large Amounts of Tempdb and Fail to Complete

SYMPTOMS

The Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance queries provided with Systems Management Server 2.0 may fail to complete when executed. These queries create very large temporary tables in the tempdb database, causing it to become very large and ultimately run out of space. The queries will then fail to complete.


WORKAROUND

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server 2.0. This problem was first corrected in Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack Service Pack 1.
