Access Violation Occurs When Exiting Data Conversion Library Routine for MDAC

SYMPTOMS

You may experience an access violation when exiting a routine that performs data conversion using Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) version 1.5 on data involving Year 2000 (Y2K) dates.


CAUSE

The file, Msdadc.dll, contained an error that caused this problem.


RESOLUTION

This problem has been resolved in the latest release of the MDAC available at the Microsoft MDAC Web Site.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 and the Microsoft Data Access Component version 1.5.
