XADM: ~DEL in Directory Name Column of CSV File Creates Duplicate User

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program to import a CSV file that contains a ~DEL value for the Directory name column, a duplicate user is created but with directory name "?DEL". The Global Address List has duplicate entries for this user.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.


MORE INFORMATION

To import Microsoft Exchange Directory information, use the Directory Import command on the Tools menu.
