XADM: Edbutil Does Not Work Against JET97 Databases

SYMPTOMS

When running Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5, Edbutil produces errors even if the database is Consistent.

Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 uses JET97. As a result, Edbutil will no longer work against the Dir.edb, Priv.edb, and Pub .edb databases. If you attempt to run the command

edbutil /mh

against the Dir.edb, Priv.edb, or Pub .edb databases, you receive an error -1206. If you attempt to run the command

edbutil /d /r

you receive an error -1022.

Eseutil should be run against a JET97 database. You can run the command

eseutil /?

for switch options or you can refer to the Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 documentation for additional information.
