XADM: Manipulation of Distribution Lists Is SlowID: Q198015
|
When you try to add a user to a distribution list (DL), the population of
the dialog box for selecting the DL is slow. This can be observed by going
through the following steps:
When the Exchange Server Administrator program submits the query to the Exchange Directory to get the requested objects to display, flags are set that causes the Directory Service to take a code path where the search is non-indexed. The non-indexed search is much slower, which causes the population of the dialog box to be slow.
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from
Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied
only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not
severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you
wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0 service pack that
contains this fix.
