If you are connected to the Internet using a Dial-Up Networking connection, you may be disconnected when you quit the program that is using the connection. This can occur even if Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer is not configured to disconnect automatically.
This problem can occur if there is only one Internet-aware program running on your Windows CE device. The Auto Disconnect feature in Pocket Internet Explorer is used only when there are at least two Internet-aware programs running simultaneously.
To work around this problem, keep at least one additional Internet-aware program (such as Microsoft Pocket Outlook) running on your Windows CE device. This prevents the connection from being disconnected when you quit another Internet-aware program.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
