SYMPTOMS

When you restore data to a Handheld PC (H/PC) using an Ethernet PC Card, you may receive the following error message:

   Restore: File(s) Could Not Be Copied. Restore could not copy the
   following file(s) to the device. To correct this error, close any
   programs on your device that may have these files locked and then press
   Retry. You may choose to skip these files; however, they will not be
   correctly restored on your device.

   Arp.dll
   Dhcp.dll
   Ndis.dll

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the ethernet components are in use.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, perform a hard reset on the H/PC, and then restore your data. For information about how to perform a hard reset on your H/PC, please contact the hardware's manufacturer or consult the printed documentation included with your H/PC.

To restore your data, follow these steps:

1. On the desktop computer, click Start, point to Programs, point to

   Microsoft Windows CE Services, and then click Mobile Devices.

2. On the Tools menu, click Backup/Restore.

3. On the Restore tab, click Restore Now.

4. Click OK, and then click Restore.
