SUMMARY
This article lists some of the known issues in Note Taker on a Palm-size
PC (P/PC).
MORE INFORMATION
You may experience any of the following issues when you use Note Taker:
- If you remove a Storage PC Card when you have an open note, you may
lose data.
- If you use Mobile Devices on the desktop computer to add or remove a
note, Note Taker does not automatically refresh the list of notes. To
refresh the note list, switch to a different program on the P/PC, and
then switch back to Note Taker.
- If you see an asterisk (*) at the end of a template's name, the
template is located on a Storage PC Card, not in the P/PC's main
storage memory.
- Pocket Word Template and Pocket Word Document file types may be
displayed as .Pwt and .Pwd file types, respectively.
- To view all Note Taker file types, follow these steps:
1. Tap Start, tap Note Taker, and then tap Options on the Tools menu.
2. On the File tab, tap the Show All File Types check box to select
it, and then tap OK.
- When you use the Zoom feature, graphics may overlay text. Note Taker
does not scale graphics relative to text.
- Graphics may be lost if you save a Note Taker (.pwi) file as a Rich Text
Format (.rtf) file on a P/PC.
- When you convert a Microsoft Word (.doc) document to a Note Taker (.pwi)
file, large fonts may not be converted correctly.
- The Word Completion feature may suggest previously entered acronyms
or abbreviations. This issue can occur if you type a text string which
the Word Completion feature does not recognize.
- You need to use Windows CE Services to convert fonts for use on a P/PC.
- When you use the Jot Character Recognizer tool in Note Taker, the
Word Completion feature may not suggest words properly if you used
the backspace stroke.
- When you use the Wrap To Window feature of Note Taker, graphics may not
be moved from their original position.
- When you open a Note Taker file that was converted from a read-only
Word document, the Previous and Next arrows in Note Taker may not be
available.
- When you convert a Word document to a Note Taker file, some formatting,
such as bullets, may not be converted correctly.
- The list of templates in Note Taker may include duplicate items, one in
the P/PC's storage memory and one on a storage PC Card.
NOTE: If the template is on a storage PC Card, an asterisk (*) appears
at the end of the template's name.
