The Ipsetup.inf file included with the IntelliPoint Setup disk contains a warning message in addition to the supported input devices. The "All mouse devices for Windows 98 -- please use Windows 98 mouse drivers" message warns Windows 98 users not to install drivers from this disk. If you install this item, no drivers are installed but you see the following device name listed in Device Manager:

All mouse devices for Windows 98 -- please use Windows 98 mouse drivers.
You can remove this item from Device Manager. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click System.


  3. On the Device Manager tab, double-click the Mouse branch to expand it.


  4. Click "All mouse devices for Windows 98 -- please use Windows 98 mouse drivers," and then click Remove.


  5. Click OK.
