MNK Pro: Web/Home Key Does Not Start Default Version of Netscape Navigator

SYMPTOMS

When you press the Web/Home key on the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

• The default version of Netscape Navigator may not start.



• A separate instance of Netscape Navigator may start when you press the Search or Favorites Hot Keys.



• The Back, Forward, Refresh, and Search Hot Keys may not function as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if both Netscape Navigator version 3.x and Netscape Navigator version 4.0 or later are installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Manually start the default version of Netscape Navigator. To do this:
   
   
   • Double-click the desktop shortcut to the default version of Netscape Navigator.
   
   
   
   • Click the default version of Netscape Navigator on the Start menu.



2. Quit Netscape Navigator.



3. Restart your computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro version 1.0.
