Natural Keyboard Elite Does Not Work with Compaq Deskpro 4000

SYMPTOMS

When you connect the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite keyboard to your computer, the keyboard may be detected the initial time you start your computer but every subsequent time you start your computer, the keyboard may not be detected.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you connect the Natural Keyboard Elite keyboard to a Compaq Deskpro 4000 computer.

The Natural Keyboard Elite does not work with Compaq Deskpro 4000 computers that contain a VIA UHCI chipset.

NOTE: The Natural Keyboard Elite does work with Compaq Deskpro 4000 computers that contain an Intel motherboard with a VIA chipset.
