Cannot Return to Previous Page in Kiosk Mode

• Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.02, 4.0, 4.01, 4.01 Service Pack 1 for Windows 95
• Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.02, 4.0, 4.01, 4.01 Service Pack 1 for Windows NT 4.0
• Microsoft Windows 98

SYMPTOMS

If you open a document using in-place activation (or document hosting) while Internet Explorer is running in Kiosk mode, you cannot return to the previous page by pressing the BACKSPACE key, right-clicking the page and then clicking Back, or by pressing ALT+LEFT ARROW.

CAUSE

In Kiosk mode, you must use a framed page if you are opening documents with in-place activation.
