Cannot Submit Form Data Using Internet Explorer

SYMPTOMS

When you fill out a form on a Web page and then try to submit the form, you may receive one of the following error messages:


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have Internet Explorer set not to receive cookies, or if you have configured a third-party program not to receive cookies.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow the steps in the appropriate section:

Internet Explorer 4 and Windows 98

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Internet, and then click the Advanced tab.


  2. In the Cookies section, click one of the following options:



  3. Click OK.


Internet Explorer 5

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Internet, and then click the Security tab.


  2. Click Internet, and then click Custom Level.


  3. In the Cookies section, click Enable for the following items:



  4. Click OK.


  5. Follow steps 2-3 to enable cookies for the following content zones, if necessary:



  6. Click OK.


Third-Party Programs

To set a third-party program (such as Lockman's Anonymous Cookies Deluxe version 1.0) to accept cookies, refer to the program's instructions.
