Files Downloaded from the Internet Are Zero Bytes in Size

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to download a file from the Internet to a floppy disk, the downloaded file may be zero bytes in size.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you downloaded the file to an MS-DOS-formatted floppy disk. Internet Explorer for Macintosh can save files only to a Macintosh-formatted disk.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, download the file to a Macintosh-formatted disk, and then move or copy the file to an MS-DOS-formatted floppy disk.
